Dataflow linked entity error

    Just to close the loop on this, after a lot of time talking to MS support we discovered through trial and error that the issue was being caused by an out of date gateway. 

    It was hard to diagnose as the queries using the gateway worked fine, it was only when adding a linked entity that wasn't using the gateway that the error (really unhelpful message and code) occurred.

itchyeyeballs  v-kkf-msft  jst checking , if you have managed to resolve this or did you hear back from Microsoft . 

i'm facing a similar issue , where i need to use  a linked entity and append (combine)  this data to a history table , but if if i disable the linked entity , the latest data is not updated to my new (appended table) 

curios to know how did you get away with this .

    Anonymous  yes, in my update on Tuesday I reported that updating the gateway fixed it.

     

    What do you mean by 'disable' the linked entity?

    When using a dataflow as a linked entity the gateway should be set to none, you should also untick 'enable load' in the power query editor
