Data storage in different regions

Hi Community Members,

My organisation is geographically spread across multiple countries. However, all our Power BI data is stored in US, as our organisation O365 configuration base is US, hence by default the data storage location in Power BI service is selected as US.

My question is whether the Power BI data can be stored region specific. i.e. data of Canada stored in Canada, data of US stored in US, data of UK stored in UK etc.

Please advise whether individual users can change their data storage location.

Appreciate all help!

It will stored based on the tenant level, not on the data level.

If possible, we can request Microsoft to change the Power BI tenant from US to Canada/Europe..etc., It is called as Tenant Remaping.

As i know that is is by design, please share your idea in "Power BI Ideas Forum Page".

venal , Thanks for your reply, but in case of tenant remapping, would the entire data move to Canada/Europe from US.

Is it possible that for US users data is stored in US and for Canada/Europe users data is stored in Canada/US.

Both users below to the same organisation.

      Please advise

There is the option for multi geo replication, but that's only available with Power BI Premium.

        • With Multi Geo going GA, you can extend your Power BI tenant to store your users’ data in the geographies covered in the Microsoft Trust Center

Without Premium you can only choose a different region for another tenant.
