Data source credentials is greyed out

I understand you're running into an issue where the refresh option is disabled and the data source credentials are greyed out in Power BI Service even though your files are stored in SharePoint. You mentioned you're combining multiple datasets using = Table.Combine({DS1, DS2, DS3}), and You think that might be what's causing the problem.

This kind of issue often comes down to how the data is being combined. When you manually merge queries like that, Power BI can treat each file as a separate source. That can lead to an unsupported configuration, which blocks scheduled refresh and prevents you from setting up credentials in the service.

The recommended approach is to use the SharePoint Folder connector instead. This treats all the files in the folder as a single, unified source. Just go to Get Data ->SharePoint Folder, enter your SharePoint site URL (not the individual file URL), and use the built in  Combine File option. Power Query will automatically create a function to handle the combination, and you can tweak it as needed. This setup ensures Power BI recognizes the source properly, so refresh and credentials work as expected.
