Hello,
Data Source Credentials il always hanging on refresh.
We have worked fine with the gateway for 2 months, on our server 'test'.
From half april (approx.) no more, on the old server 'test' and on the new server 'Prod' where we installed the gateway at that time.
We obtain always the message to install the Gateway.
But have installed many times the Gateway, tried many solutions, many controls on ports ecc., but the problem is also the same
... the gateway is not recognised
Also an opened ticket has not have response after many days.
Solved! Go to Solution.
another screensh
No ideas ??
we did other attempts with strange results... (random apparently results)
Hi, @perpor
According to your posts, your configuration looks good. There is one thing you need to check. You should create data sources for every source of your dataset in the Gateway if your dataset has many sources. Have a look at the example below.
By the way, you should check the version of your On-premises Gateway. The newest version is 14.16.6317.4. You can download the newest version from your Power BI Services. Maybe this is the cause that data source credentials hangs.
Hope this would help.
Best regards
Dale
Where can I see the actual version of the gateway ? (but we have installed several times the gateway in the last days..)
Open the On-premises data Gateway, you will see in the status page. If your gateway is OK, you should check your credentials. Maybe you can check it in the local machine first.
ok, for the first server yhe version is right, for the second server i verify later...
verified on the second server, the version is ok but the Gateway is always not recognised.
It is obvious that there are many bugs, I hope that Microsoft can solve as soon as possible (and we do not have response to the ticket afer 10 days...)
Hello,
We can see from your posted pictures, the connection is good. Did you check this situation? Maybe there was some change of your dataset. The situation is: if your dataset has many sources, every source should have a Data Source in the Gateway including files and online sources. Let's just have a try.
Best Regards
Dale
Hi,
I am so glad to hear that. It must be such a bad experience.
You can try to add new data source. Remember one thing, every source needs a data source in the gateway. Such as workbook, web.
Best Regards!
Dale
