Data set not updating in Power BI Service - via Gateway-ODBC to MySQL on AWS

I got following error message:

error_message.png

This error happended after connecting existing dataset that has been connected to Athena on AWS to new MySQL on AWS. In Power BI Desktop it updated without any problem in Power BI Service it doesn't.

Could this be related to any computation in the Query Editor? How to solve this error?

Hi @Thomas_PBI ,

I think it may be because the location of the data source has changed and the connection to the data source failed during the query. You can try to clear your browser's cache, recreate a pbix file and publish it to the Service. Or you can check the log in the gateway app (@JosefPrakljacic's suggestion ) to troubleshoot the cause of the error.

Hope that's what you were looking for.

Best Regards,

Yuna

Hello @Thomas_PBI,

I would recommend that you search in the Gateway Log Files for an error. (Here is a short description how to do it and here is a longer one.)

Hope this helps you in your investigation.

BR,

Josef
