Data refresh failing

Hi All,

From last Monday onwards, I am unable to refresh any of the Power BI reports that takes data from Octane using OData. The following error is getting while refreshing the data from Power BI Service as well from Power BI Desktop.

"DataSource.Error: OData: Request failed: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (The number of phase transitions currently read 5332, exceeds the allowed limit 4000. Apply a filter to reduce the number of displayed items or increase the value of the parameter MAX_NUM_OF_MODIFIED_FIELD_AUDIT_RECORDS_TO_FETCH.)". Can anyone help me out of this?

Thanks in Advance

Hi @_123 ,

The error message tells you very clearly what the problem is, and I think you need to check this message.

Hi @Anonymous, I checked that message but I couldn't find any option to reduce the displayed items or increase the value of the parameter. If you know, could you please help me on the same?

Hi @_123 ,

Can these contents help you?

Changes to applying filters to reduce your number of queries (wiseowl.co.uk)

@Anonymous The issue is not with the slicer or visualization, rather the problem is facing when we import data from datasource. After importing/refresh the data the above mentioned errpr is showing. Is any way to reduce the display parameters, when we import data to Power Query?

@lbendlin Yes, but they are saying it's not there issue.

That sounds more like an issue with your Octane database server?  Have you checked with the DBA?
