Data labels not showing up in App -error

Hi, 

There is an error in my published report (App and Workspace) that says "Data labels in this visual were modified and may not match the corresponding values."  the visuals (bar charts are displayed but the data labels are not) 

The visual and data labels were loading correctly till the last refresh which was one day back. 

 

Can anyone please help me with why this error occurs?

    Hi PBISTUDY ,

     

    I'd like to get more details on this issue .
    1. Does it normally display in Power BI Desktop?
    2. Are you applying a normal data label or a custom data label?
    3. What version of Power BI Service are you using?
    4. If you use the anonymous browser mode to view the report, can it be displayed normally?

      Hi, thank you for taking the time to reply

      Following are the answers to your questions 

      1- yes it does display in Power bi desktop

      2- Normal data label with only position setting ; no custom label

      3- Version: 2.118.828.0 64-bit (June, 2023)

      4- no it not displaying the values.

      As a note there are multilple pages in the report. Many of the visuals are showing the correct values but some are showing the error "Data labels in this visual were modified and may not match the corresponding values. " in the workspace and the app

      Hi Anonymous , I have same error, it is visible in desktop, service and embedded report. All 100% stacked bar charts have "i" icon with error "Data labels in this visual were modified and may not match the corresponding values.", but labels are displayed. It happened after December update.  Labels shows %, my version is 2.124.1052.0 64-bit (December 2023).

      I have same errors when create new file with 100% stacked bar chart.

    I have the same error. Currently, the data labels look ok. I am not sure what will happen.

      How did you resolve the issue? I republished the report, but I still see this error on several graphs.

        Hi, kaikai24  - sorry I did not do anything specific, other than changing a few properties in Format Page and republish it.

    It was a Power BI Bug, need to replace the visuals and later works fine

    I am facing the same issue on March-01-2024.  My Desktop Version is Version: 2.126.927.0 64-bit (February 2024)

      please replace the visual with the new one and it will resolve the issue. It is Power BI Bug.

    What a wild bug, same issue here on 4/1.  I need to completely recreate from scratch.

    For my situation, I was able to resolve the problem by making sure the Title was disabled and Value property for the marker label was enabled with the measure I wanted. Previously, I got the error by using the same measure in the Title only and disabling the Value. Power BI did not like Title (enabled), Value (disabled), Detail (enabled) .

    If you have Title or Detail enabled and the Value disabled, you will get the error: ""Data labels in this visual were modified and may not match the corresponding values."
