Data field in a Desktop Model & the published model...but then disappears on refresh.

Hi All

I have a field in the desktop model. It counts the number of Completed phone call activities that have left a voice mail, sucked directly out of MS Dymanics CRM 2015

  • The data appears in my model.
  • The report is published.
  • I open it PowerBI Online.
  • I can still see the data.
  • I publish the report via a content pack.
  • I can still see the data in the content.

2 hours later the power data in the report refreshes as per the schedule.

And the data for that one field disappears.

Everything else is fine. Lots of other data fields successfull there.

But not this one.

Any ideas?

Brett

@brettlloydpayne in power bi service under Datasets go to your dataset and drop that field into a table visual and see if it returns anything. If not I would suggest you check data source and confirm it does have value.

Hi

As mentioned in my post, it is showing data in the visual, which incidently, is a table.

So its disapppearing! Thanks for trying. Any other thoughts?

Any new views on this item please?

Thanks

Brett

Incidently, we seem to have fixed this with the help of MS Professional Services support.

There looks to have been two issues.

1) After the first data refresh, the background schema of the model was defaulting to the out of the box schema.

2) When a field in MSD was a multiple option field and that field text was Yes or No, even as text, Power BI prefered to set those data types as TRUE/FALSE even though that was not the field setting in MSD.
