Data Sync Challenge between Internal and External Power BI Reports

I'm working with data from SQL Server, using a Power BI gateway to access it within our organization's premium workspace. We're expanding to provide reports to external clients from another premium workspace. Two key challenges I'm facing:

1. Synchronized Updates: How can I ensure that changes made on the server side of the gateway are reflected in both internal and external reports?

2. Differential Refresh: Data for internal reports refreshes daily, while external reports should update only once a week (Friday-2pm).

Seeking guidance on achieving these synchronization and refresh goals. Any help is appreciated!

Hi @DJJR10 ,

Please try below steps:

1. create two report in Power BI Desktop and publish it to the service different workspace with the same data source with import connection type

2. install and configure On-premises gateway in the local machine that could access the data source successfully

3. create data source for the gateway in Power BI Service Portal, configure the dataset settings for the two dataset and set the schedule refresh policy

4. the dataset could refresh the dataset according to your policy
