I received an error that my connection status is 'Partially Online' with this error message ( Received error payload from gateway service with ID 102656: Mashup expression evaluation error. Reason: ). The
I have checked my gateWay Cluster, and it's online. The ODBC Data Sources are not. Has anyone had a similar experience, or does anyone have any suggestions on troubleshooting the error?
- all cluster members can reach the data source = "online"
- some but not all cluster members can reach the data source (for various reasons) = "partially online"
- no cluster members can reach the data source = "offline"
This also includes cases where the cluster member itself is the problem (locked up, no network etc.)
@lbendlin, Weird. Last i posted this; it was partially online. Now it says Offline. Any idea why is that?
Those things are unrelated. "Partially online" is a horrible, horrible unforced error by the gateway product team. All it means is that one or more of the cluster members are disabled. We disable particular cluster members often for maintenance, and every single time we get an overexcited user calling us , freaking out about nothing. As long as you have one (better two) active gateway cluster members everything is fine. Relax, people, everything is FINE.
Thanks, @lbendlin - but it seems that you are talking about the Cluster, the cluster is online but the Power BI Data Source connector status is what shown as offline and partially online. pls, see below screenshot
That error message says "offline", not "partially online". Different scenario.
Please disregards my last chat. The issue is with the ODBC connection source. Still show as partially online.
go to the ODBC 64 bit control panel on each of the gateway cluster members and validate that the ODBC connection tests successful.
I have tested that out, and the ODBC is connected. i will keep digging and will leave a comment when i find the solution. Thanks for your time.
