Hi,
The capacity settings when checking this on Admin Portal is set to UK South ( Gen2 Premium ).
When I check on the Help & Support > About Power BI it says Your data is stored inNorth Europe (Ireland)
I have clicked on Download > Data Gateway and installed this on an OnPrem server ( which is nearer to my other OnPrem servers that will connecting to, to query)
I then went back to Power BI Service > Settings > Manage gateways and added the relevant Data Sources which are mainly SQL Server connections.
My question is can I change the Default for the Gateway from North Europe to UK South ?
Because I do not want my Data I am connecting to routing
from UK to Republic Ireland to UK South
As I believe that is what will happen if I do not change the Default for the Gateway or is that not correct what I am saying?
Thanks

Hi @PowerAuto82
I cannot say 100% sure if that would go where it is supposed to go. I would think that the data would flow in the region it is set to, as long as other data sources are in the same region?

Hi @PowerAuto82
Yes that should work.
In the past I have not had any issues with gateways in different regions as the connectivity between the Azure data centres is super fast.
Hi @GilbertQ
It wasn't really a question of if it works I was checking will the data be channelled across North Europe (Ireland) before the data gets stored in UK South as that is where my Workspace region is.
I do not want it to got to North Europe but because the Gateway default is located it looks like it will? Would you be able to know this?
Thanks
