Hi DebbieE ,
Based on this document, You create and manage dataflows in app workspaces by using the Power BI service. Once you've connected and prepared your data, you can choose to map it to a Common Data Model standard entity or load it as a custom entity in the Common Data Model form in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
We can try to load it as a custom entity in CDM form if we cannot map it to a CDM standard entity.

I have read the docucumentation on it but Im still confused about the above question. Is there a point to just mapping a couple of columns in your table If lots of them are not mapped?
