Data Flow scheduled refresh triggering multiple times

As a temporary solution, I've configured several data flows with scheduled refresh. I've configured the scheduled refresh so that it refreshes daily, at 5:30 AM. However, some days it only refreshes once, on other days it runs the refresh (5:30 AM) and a soon as it's completed, it directly starts a new refresh on the data flow (so back-to-back).

I've included an example (hope it is readable), but this behaviour is not isolated to this data flow, it is happening on other data flows as well. Any ideas what the issue could be here?

  • Hi Etienne_Steens ,

I find a similar issue (Perhaps this was reported by you) and Microsoft reply:

There is a bug: Scheduled refresh has more schedules than what shows up in the settings.

The cause has been recognized and is currently being fixed.

The workaround that may work for the client till we resolve this, is by setting the schedule to half an hour or an hour later than the current time (not more than that).

    Best Regards,

    Icey

    Hi Etienne_Steens ,

Do you set up scheduled refresh on other dataflows containing linked entities?

Reference: Refresh logic of linked entities.

Icey Interesting read, didn't know refresh for linked entities worked that way.

However, the are no dataflows in the workspace (or other workspaces) that contain linked entities. The example dataflow also doesn't contain any linked entities. These are all "define new entities"-dataflows so to speak.

        Hi Etienne_Steens ,

        So weird.

It is suggested to create a support ticket to get further help.
