Data Alert function not available in PowerBI Service

Hello!

I want to ask about data alert functionality - it is not available for my account in PBI Service even I have PRO licence.

Is there any other way how to set up data alert for values in PBI? Using the Power Automate is always referencing to available alerts if I want to use flow without premium content.

Any suggestion?

Thanks!

Hi @DataAnalystSH , thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Data alerts are only available for users with a Power BI Premium license. With a Premium license, you can set up alerts on dashboards in shared or non-Premium capacity workspaces. With Power BI Pro license, you can still set up alerts, but they are limited to your personal workspace or dashboards shared within a Premium capacity workspace.

Try Below:

  1. With a PRO license, you can set up alerts on tiles pinned from report visuals in your dashboards. Make sure you pin the relevant visual to a dashboard and configure the alert settings.
  2. You can integrate Power BI with Power Automate to create custom workflows and notifications. Even though Power Automate has premium features, there are still many free connectors and actions you can use to set up alerts.
  3. If you have access to Microsoft Fabric, you can use Data Activator to set up dynamic alerts. It's a powerful tool for creating alerts based on data changes and can be integrated with Power BI.
  4. If you're looking for more advanced alerting capabilities without premium content, you might consider using alternative BI tools like Tableau, Zoho Analytics, or Looker. These tools offer robust alerting features and might better suit your needs.
