Dashboard refresh - show today's data

I have a dashboard based on tiles in a report that has a date slicer. When I pin a visual to a dashboard from this report it freezes at the filter context at the time of the pinning. That makes sense...

I would v-ljerr-msft, but I think it might not be working as well as I first thought.
