Hi Team ,
Issue: I am trying to trigger an alert based on updates to the data in a card visual on my Power BI dashboard. However, after pinning the card visualfrom report to the dashboard level, when the report is filtered or sliced, the dashboard doesn't reflect the updated value. As a result, the alert does not trigger as expected.
Please help me on this
Thanks in advance
Hi @SAPpowerbi ,
Refer this doc, Alerts only work on streaming datasets if you build a KPI, card, or gauge report visual and then pin that visual to the dashboard.
Alerts only work on refreshed data. When data refreshes, Power BI looks to see whether an alert is set for that data. If the data has reached an alert threshold, Power BI triggers an alert.
Please check your dataset. Can you try refreshing the report manually after changing the slicer and then check again if the alert triggered?
Best Regards,
Neeko Tang

Hi @SAPpowerbi , try instead of pinning a card visual, pin the entire report page as a live tile. This will make the dashboard reflect any filters or slicers applied in the report then go to the report, click on the “Pin live page” option and pin the entire page to your dashboard.
Thank you for the quick response. However, when we are on the entire page as a live tile , the "Alert" option is not available at the dashboard level. The alert option only appears when right-clicking on individual tiles or pinned cards, but not for the entire page. Please help with this.
Yes @SAPpowerbi ,I believe setting alerts at entire dashboard level wont be possible as alerts only work on card visual. You can check this limitations of data alerts in this documentation for further info : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/service-set-data-alerts
