Hi,
We have setup a dashboard alert that gets triggered if the card value changes. However, it is acting arbitrarily. Sometimes it is triggered just fine but other times it is not despite all conditions (the "value above a certain threshold", "At most 1 hour") to trigger it being met.
Has anyone else faced it and can help? Thanks in advance!
Recently, I ran into this same issue. Alerts that had worked well for a long time just stop working. An alert that only works "simetimes" is not worth much and gives you a false impression. I think something is truely wrong with alerts as I have had the condition for days and no trigger. I need to go look into this but nothing has changed since they worked in the past.
The data is being "refreshed" but also has not "changed". I am not sure I understand the statement
"Alerts are only sent if your data changes." What if there is a "Refresh" completed but there are no changes in the data. Its not an incremental update but does PBI detect a "no-change" refeesh and NOT send an alert? The thing is, the allert is set up to detect when there are "no changed" in the updates which, in this case, indicates a problem. But I wonder if Alert are truely only sent on a Change in the value being monitored. I guess that makes sense. But I would like to get the Alert even when the monitored value has not changed since the issue may not have been addressed.
QUESTION: If I set up a monitor to check a count measure being < 10. On tuesday its 5 and I get an alert. If, on wedneday its still 5 (a refresh completed but no change in the monitored value) will a new alert be sent for a "max 1/24 hours" setup. Or will it just send a single email.
I can see this making sense to avoid repeated alerts. The problem was we had 2 issues at the same time. I fixed one and got no alert so I though it was fixed. But a new alert was not sent because, after the new refresh, the monitored value was the same but still out of range. So, I thought a new alert would be sent but it seems it will only send the first time it passes the threshold and then not re-trigger until a new/diffrent value is seen. This is unfortunat and as repeated alerts make sense in many situations. But I get the design if only a single alter is sent per change in value.
Hi , @ayushqralgroup
Please check the refresh history to ensure that the data was successfully refreshed .
After the dataset is updated, have checked the dashboard tile value? Is it hit the alert condition?
If it meets the condition but the alert doesn't trigger, I would suggest you create a support ticket to let engineers look into the issue on your side.

Thank you for your response. The data is refreshed correctly in the refresh history. The tile value is updated too. But no alert triggered until it all of a sudden started working fine. Right now its working but if I face this again, I will create a ticket. Thanks all for your time!
I have the same issue sometimes. The data gets refreshed and the condition to set off the alert is met but the alert does not get triggered and therefore the Flow doesn't get activated. But sometimes it does work as it should....seems quite random. I have set the Maximum Notification Frequency set to "At most once an hour". The dataset is scheduled to refresh the data 3 times in the day. Sometimes I have to turn off the alert and then turn it back on again in order to get the alerts triggering again. It'sfrustrating because we've promoted this fiunction to the business but sometimes it doersn't work. Are others experiencing this as well?
Hi @ayushqralgroup - are you facing this for youself or for other users as well, because alerts are based on individual / user specific configuration. Also, you can configure Microsoft Flow if you want to configure alerts for a group of users.

Hi @Anonymous, I am using this for a single PBI account. I already have it configured using Microsoft Flow which sends out emails to multiple users as and when the alert is triggered, but the problem is if there is no alert trigger, the "Flow" isn't triggered. So what I want to know is if I am missing something to have my alert triggered always
