Dashboard-Report - Inheritance of permissions
Hi,
I have a question about Permissions on Reports and Dashboards. I have a Dashboard with visuals that is linked to two Reports (Report A & Report B).
In this example User A has no permission to Report A, but he has permission to the Report B. User B has permission to both Reports.
Ok, when I give User A the ermission to the Dashboard, he get also the Permission to both Reports! Is this here an "Inheritance" of permissions?

Hi torsten_FO
When you share your dashboard to UserA , there will be a Pop-up box allows you to select the desired settings and enter the user information that needs to be shared .
If you choose none ,then the UserA can see the dashboard in Shared with me in his service ,but he cannot share the dashboard to others or use the dataset to create a new report in his account .
If you choose the option in Share dashboard pane and share it to UserB, UserB can see the dashboard ,share the dashboard to others and use the dataset for the dashboard to create a new report in his account .
So whether UserA has permission to Report A depends on your settings when sharing the dashboard.

hi torsten_FO ,
When you share the dashboard, you need to UN-select the options that you do not want them to have.
There are a number of reasons that the person could get to the report. If you truly want to restrict somebody, share the APP only and make sure that you do not check the ability for the person to drill down.
