DM_GWPipeline_UnknownError for initial refresh while setting up incremental refresh
Hi,
I am encountering an questionable issue while setting up the incremental refresh.
My setup: connecting powerbi to Azure cosmosDB, total records is 1million rows, incremental refresh for 10 archieved year and 2 days of incremental refresh. The data connection is via a virtual gateway.
After publishing the model to powerbi service and refresh for the first time, this error is shown: {"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_UnknownError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_UnknownError","parameters":{},"details":[]}}
The error is shown after 15-20 minutes of running.
One weird thing is that, out of 10 attempts, around 3-4 times are successful.
anyone knows how to fix this?
Thank you,
Hi Anonymous
maybe this error coming due to capacity throttling at that time when it fails you can check below points- Optimize Cosmos DB queries and ensure partitioning is efficient to avoid long-running operations.
- Reduce data load or adjust refresh policies to prevent timeout issues; ensure query folding is working.
- Analyze Power BI and Cosmos DB logs for detailed error diagnostics to pinpoint the root cause.
