Hi,
I am using Sharepoint files as data source for multiple reports on Power BI Service, refresh is scheduled automatically and it works. These files are marged with other data from SAP, Azure SQL Database and we use gateway for on premise data.
But refresh fails for 1 big dataset (1 gb) and the issue is that there is no rule when it fails.
Example: it is refreshed successfully several days and then one day it fails.
Notes:
1) we are using power bi premium
2) sharepoint credentials are entered, saved and are not changed
3) all other datasets that use these same Sharepoint files and credentials never failed refreshed
Here is the error:

I am also having a similar problem. Is there news about the issue?
Hi Nimenja. I am also facing a similar issue with Gateway. Can you please let me know what you did to get through off from this issue ?
Hi @snippy506 , Microsoft is still looking at logs, no significant help yet (2 months open ticket).
Our alternative: we moved data from Sharepoint to Azure SQL Database. Here we had new error, data mashup issues, couldn't merge tables between Azure and SAP on premise.
Solution was that we did lookup columns instead of merging tables. This seems to be working for now, no issues.
However, looking forward to hearing from Microsoft what was the issue and how to solve it.
Cheers,
Nemanja A.
Hi @lbendlin ,
Yes, as you suggested, we contacted support yesterday, we will track logs.
Furthermore, at this time (morning hours) there is heavier load on daily jobs, but we were interesting to see why it fails ocasionally only for this one dataset.
Sending feedback, hopefully logs will be useful.
Thank you,
Nemanja
Hi @nandic , Did the logs show anything as to the cause of your issue? I am experiencing something similiar.
Since you have a Pro license you can raise a Pro support ticket at support.powerbi.com - the support team can check the activity log for any clues.
You may also want to talk to the sharepoint admins to see if they have an opinion on the timing - maybe it coincides with heavy load on the farm.
