Custom visual (number box) display unit can't auto display when I first open my dashboard

I created a custom number box visual like below:

SenWang_0-1737097259337.png

It works fine on my local PowerBI desktop.

I set display unit as auto. Then I publish my report. But when I go to review my report online, I found that every time I review my report when I first login Power BI, the auto attribute can't work. As below:

But after I refreshed my web page, the display unit can work correctly.

Another scenario:

If there are two reports that using my custom visual, when I refresh one of the report, another will work correctly as well.

It seems that this is a problem with visual rendering. Does anyone know how to solve this?

HI @SenWang ,

Since your examples are of different values, it is a bit hard to understand the exact issue.  However, when using "auto" then the system uses the "data value's magnitude" so different sized numbers can display differently in the same report.  Also, regional settings may cause it to be different between the desktop and the service.

The way around this would be to go to the formatting and set the display units to display the same way everytime.

Also, the type of visual may affect this as well.  You stated that you are using a custom visual.  I am not finding a visual called "number box".  Perhaps you can look up the help area for the visual that you are using.

Let us know if that helps you out!

Hi @SenWang,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

The Number Box visual you mentioned appears to be a privately developed custom visual that is not available in AppSource.

I recommend reaching out to the respective developer or team responsible for creating this visual to investigate and address the rendering issue. Please note that only the admin or the developer with access to the source code can provide updates or fixes for this visual
