Custom button to reset a page to default state

Hi Everyone,

I have a requirement to embed pbi reports into a custom web application using embedded bi. One of the issue is we cannot get the default reset to default button from ribbon working in embedded bi page, so I am thinking of adding a new custom button that can serve this purpose. I can create a bookmark for initial status but the issue is either I need to keep this button all 10 pages to come to home atate or create 10 bookmarks for 10 landing page states of 10 pages (which is not preferable) . Please advise on how this can be addressed.

Thanks for sharing the article @collinq , we did explore thsi option but If eel this is more valudable for reports in direct query mode than import mode. Also Clear all slicer clears all selections but what I want to achive is to bring the report to the place where we initally publsihed like defaulting it to current week or so.

Hey @Anonymous ,

As soon as a user starts changing the slicers and sorts and other things, the report stays that way for them (until they clear it or their browser cache is cleared or the report is re-published/app updated).  So, without a bookmark there is no "have it the way I published it".  You can set the filters/slicers and other views that you want and I guess you could make them all non-interactive and then they would stay the same way but you can't really have users interact and "personalize" (personalize the page by changing sort order, slicers, etc -  I am not talking about giveng them permissions to let them make their own stuff or edit yours) and then have it "snap back" without a bookmark to mark the version of the report that you want them to have.

Hi @Anonymous ,

This article explains how to create an "Apply All" or "Clear All" button (without bookmarks):

Create Apply all and Clear all slicers buttons in reports - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
