Custom Tooltip does not display in Dashboard (Apps) - Part Deux
I had a previous post that I thought was resolved - unforuntately it is not. I had thought a simple re-pinning fixed an issue for a custom tooltip to be displayed properly. Turns out, it wasn't fixed at all, I was looking in the wrong place.
The proper description of the issue is that custom tooltips will not display when accessing the dashboard visual from Apps. It works fine if you access from the report, or the dashboard outside of the Apps area, ie right from the workspace. Here are some screen shots:

So, in the top 2, where I am accessing the visual from the Workspace in either Report or Dashboard forms, you can see that there is a popup for the Tooltip that isn't just the standard one, it's a custom tooltip I created to expose the name of the customer when hovering over the customer code.
In the 3rd shot, when I access the visual in the dashboard via the Apps area, I revert back to the standard Tooltip, and not my custom one. I think this is a bug. v-frfei-msft

The custom tooltip only works in reports for now though it might work in the Dashboard by pinning live page. The custom tooltip is hosted on a single page. But pinning tiles doesn't copy the information of the tooltip page. I would suggest you vote up this idea.

FWIW they are not showing up here either on dashboards. Works fine in reports, but dashboards show the default tooltips.
Report Tooltips are not supported in embedded applications. I wonder if it considers dashboard pinned tiles "embedded" since it isn't a report.

As far as I know, the custom tooltip works with reports only for now. But I still consult the Product Team. I will update here later.
