Custom Connector Not Showing Under Semantic Model Gateway Settings
- 2 months ago
shibashankar335, configration seems correct, update the connection is not resolving your issues? Also, the error scrrenshot you shared is from the excel.
That connection issue need to fixed in order to make this work.
Hi Lodha_Jaydeep,
Thank you for your response.
I verified that the data is loading successfully in Power Query, and I can see the records in the Data view within Power BI Desktop. I also cleared the existing Data Source Settings, reconfigured the connection using the same credentials, and confirmed that the data is still loading correctly.
After saving and publishing the report to the Power BI Service, I am unable to find any associated Gateway or Cloud Connection for the semantic model. Instead, I continue to receive the following error:
"Refresh cannot be scheduled because the semantic model does not contain any data model connections, or is a worksheet or linked table. To schedule refresh, the data must be loaded into the data model."
Since the data is visible in both Power Query and the Data view, it appears that the data is being loaded successfully in Power BI Desktop. Could you please suggest if there are any additional settings or checks I should perform to ensure the dataset is properly recognized as a semantic model connection in the Power BI Service?
Thank you for your assistance.
Hi shibashankar335,
Thanks for patience and prompt response,
Without checking the datasource settings on the service are you able to see the report page with data?
Also, in the semantic model section can you see the gate way connection or data source credentials section?
Also, can you brief some details about the connector, may we need to contact microsoft support to debug the issue if still persist, I am not seeing any configuration issues as our discussion.

Hi Lodha_Jaydeep,
Thank you for your response and continued support.
To answer your questions:
Yes, the report pages are displaying correctly in the Power BI Service. All visuals are loading and showing data as expected. However, the issue is specifically with the dataset/semantic model refresh, which is failing.
In the Semantic Model settings, the Data Source Credentials section appears blank. Additionally, under Gateway Connection, I am receiving an error indicating that the path is not correct.
I have verified that the same credentials and connection details work successfully in Power BI Desktop, and the data loads without any issues. The problem occurs only in the Power BI Service during refresh and gateway configuration.
Regarding the connector being used, it is based on the SafetyChain API. The connector documentation can be found here:
