Creating a Data Warehouse/ OneLake in Fabric

Watching the videos on creating a data warehouse/ OneLake in Microsoft Fabric

Can someone confirm the steps/order/setup/archiecture please.

Creating your first Data Warehouse in Microsoft Fabric

Create your FIRST Lakehouse in Microsoft Fabric
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFta1_70T_U

To create a data warehouse
1. Create a Workspace
2. Create a Data Warehouse in the workspace

or, to create a OneLake
1. Create a Workspace
2. Create a OneLake in the workspace

I understand a Workspace is for each Business Unit eg Finance team, Marketing team etc

Does the Data Warehouse/OneLake store data specific to the Workspace.
Does that mean I am creating a data warehouse/OneLake for each Workspace.
For example, do I
1. create a Finance Workspace
2. Create a Finance Data Warehouse/OneLake to store financial data

3. Create a Marketing Workspace
4. Create a Marketing Data Warehouse/OneLake to store marketing data

I thought the data warehouse/Onelake is One Lake created for all organisation tenant, and stores all company data eg

Therefore am I creating a OneLake named Company ABC OneLake

1 Onelake for entire org, that stores all data ie all finance data, marketing data is stored in the 1  OneLake

Hi. Let's see. Onelake is a storage created automatically by microsoft when you want to use a storage Fabric item. It's only one per tenant. Each time you create a lakehouse or warehouse in a workspace, it's stored in the onelake at a different section for each one. In order to start using the onelake, it's necessary to create a fabric item. The order is creating a workspace first, asign fabric capacity and then you can create a lakehouse or warehouse that will be hosted at onelake automatically.

You can create as many lakehouses or warehouse as make sense for the company organized by workspaces. You can read about it an many places like: https://blog.ladataweb.com.ar/post/727805048920358912/fabric-por-donde-comienzo-onelake-intro

Or microsoft links like you have right there.

I hope that helps,
