I have created a direct lake semantic model in fabric.
I then granted the affected user read and build access to the model. I also granted them viewer to the workspace, which isn't something i want to do but that didn't work.
The model is in workspace A, report is in workspace b. User is a contributor on workspace b.
WHen user attempts to view report they see this error. As the owner I can view the report just fine.
What security measure am I missing? Do I need to grant the user access to the actual onelake tables?

Hi,
If you need the source from Mircosoft, you can refer to Integrate Direct Lake security
You are missing 'Read' permissions on the underlying OneLake data (Lakehouse/Warehouse). For Direct Lake models, users must have permission on the Fabric data source itself, not just the semantic model.
Go to the Lakehouse or Warehouse item itself → Manage permissions
Grant the user (or a security group):
Read
This is mandatory for DirectLake.
Thank you @djurecicK2 for the reply. THat setting is already enabled though sadly.

@djurecicK2 , after reading your link again I noticed the fix to my issue was at the very bottom.
I had to go and create a new gateway connection for the model to utilize. So once I created that connection, assigned the model to it users were able to see the data.
