Create vnet connection with service principal authentication method

I'm trying to create a new connection to a Azure SQL Database for a virtual network data gateway, I'd like to use a service principal authentication method, but apparently there are only Basic and Oauth 2.0 authentication

If I try to create a cloud connection the service principal authentication method is available

Isn't the service principal not supported for connection with vnet data gateway? Or it's possible to enable somehow?

Thanks in advance

Simone

    Hi sbottani

Service Principal Authentication is now available since September on Microsoft Fabric.

You can check about it here, and also which are the supported data sources.

Hi Pedro, thank you for your answer, I checked the link and there is this note: "Note: service principal is not supported on the on-premises data gateway and virtual network data gateway. Support is planned by the end of 2023." so I think it's not supported yet, or it's in preview. Do you now if it's possible to activate it?

      Thanks
