Create Direct Query in Power BI Service (Sap BW source)
Hi,
Is there a way to create Direct Query connection from Power BI service?
I am trying to connect to a large cube via SAP BW Application Service, which was created via BEx query. When I try with Dataflow, it is only import mode and the cube won't show. So I figured I use Direct Query mode and perhaps it will appear. However, I could not find a way, how to do this. Is it even possible? how? Power BI Desktop is not an option for me.
Thanks
lbendlin I saw you have experience in this field.
Hi zenisekd ,
I assume you are refering to the usage of Dataflows, check the link below with an explanation to turn on the configuration not sure if this works for SAP BW but should be transversal to everything.

Yes, I am refering to Dataflow. I have read the instructions, but what is "Premium Dataflow" ?
To use DirectQuery with dataflows, you must explicitly toggle theenhanced compute enginetoOnin dataflow settings. You must then refresh the dataflow before it can be consumed in DirectQuery mode.- Navigate to the Premium dataflow, and set enhanced compute engine to On.
- Refresh the dataflow.
After you complete the steps, the dataflow is accessible in Power BI Desktop with DirectQuery mode.
