Create Dataset from Dataflow FROM WITHIN THE SERVICE
- 6 years ago
Hi jnixon ,
You could create the data source of dataflow. So you could connect it directly in Service (Get data > Files > OneDrive) to create datasets.
For now, we only can connect dataflow in Desktop and publish it to create dataset. There is not other workaround to use dataflow to do. If you still can't resolve by the method above, I think you need to ask the access of data source to create datasets. Sorry for that.
And I see the idea that just a few users vote up. It may take a long time to get the functionality fixed. If the makes sense, please accept the answer as solution. Then others who have the same request will find the answer easily and vote up the idea quickly.
Hi jnixon ,
For now, we can connect dataflow in Power BI Desktop and then upload the report to Service. It is not supported to create dataset using dataflow in Service directly.
There is an idea with same request. You could vote it up to get the feature fixed quickly.
Dataflow-based Datasets in service
Yes, thanks for the response. This will require the client to maintain a PBI Pro license for me, so that I can connect to the Dataflow in the client's tenant. Unfortunate.
I did vote on the idea when I found it yesterday morning, but there are only 23 votes, including mine. 😞
Do you know if connecting to a dataflow via the service is on the roadmap? I don't see it...
Thank you for your comment.
Kind regards,
Jeff
