Corrupted app

I have an app comprising many reports.  One of the reports has disappeared (was it deleted?) but the dataset remains - the report is no longer showing in the app obviously.  If I republish the dataset it does just that - with no report created.  I thought maybe delete the dataset and then republish but it will not let me do that because apparently my dataset is linked to a report in an app!  But there is no report in the app.  It says remove the report form the app - I cannot really do that can I?  I seem to be down to unpublishing the app but then all my users will lose their bookmarks and I suspect I will lose all my links into the app reports.

Any advice???  .

Hi @Anonymous ,

This sounds like you might be caught between stages of deletion.  🙂    I would try to resolve this by going to the Workspace, select the Update App option there.  Then, in the Navigation settings for the App, see if the report is listed in the options there and if so remove it.  Then, delete the DataSet from the Workspace and start over with publishing it again and then adding it to the App again.

Thank you. Sadly it is not showing in the app navigation.  I think I shall have to republish the app completely.  Which is intensely annoying.

Hi @Anonymous ,

It's quite wierd. I can't reproduce your issue. But you can repulish the report as the other name, and update the app to add it in the app whilst you don't neet to republish the app completely.

Thank you.  It is indeed and cetainly a corruption.  Hopefully very rare.  I have tried evey combination of republishing, removing etc and am now left with an app that looks and works fine - it is just that I have the old dataset sat in the folder unusable.  A replacement version is also there with its report in the app renamed to the original in navigation.  So nobody would know unless they look inthe folder.  One day I shall try and edit the report to remove all data from it so no-one uses it by mistake.
