Consolidating two P1 capacities into one P2 capacity
- Anonymous2 years ago
Hi GraemeW ,
There are risks, first of all you have to consider that you are using the Premium functionality, which can lead to damaged reports after downgrading. The other thing is the workspace settings, if you were using Large semantic models before, downgrading will make them unavailable.

Hope it helps!

Just wondering
Suppose you have Capacity1 of P1 and Capacity2 of P1. then move all workspaces from Capacity1 to Capacity2. now capacity 1 is empty, so delete capacity1. will that free one P1 and then can you increase the capacity of Capacity2 from P1 to P2?

For anyone else who might need the information, No. In order to turn two P1 capacities into a P2, both P1 capacities must be deleted to free up all the resources required to create the P2.
