Connection not getting established with OData Data Source at Power BI Service

Hi All.

     We are using an API to consume the SAP data source.

      At Power BI Desktop we used Get Data --> OData Feed then mentioned the API URL and used Basic method for Authentication with user name & password.

We got the data & we build the Power BI Report on top of that.

 

But when we uploaded the same report to Power BI service &  tried to create the connection for having scheduled refresh.

However with the same credentials we are not able to create the same & were getting the below mentioned error.

 

We are unable to figure out the issue as It is succesfully connecting at Power BI desktop but fails at Power BI Service. 

 

Please guide.

    Upon reviewing the error message, providing few insights which might assist you in addressing the issue:

    • If your SAP OData data source is hosted on-premises, you need to configure an On-Premises Data Gateway in Power BI Service.
    • Power BI Service often blocks Basic Authentication (username/password) for security reasons, especially with SAP OData. Use OAuth2 or Organizational Authentication
