and I think you picked the wrong connector or the wrong URL. There are 2 ways to connect to Sharepoint online via Desktop in order to have it well connected in the Service.

the dashboard have two connections, one of them is a file excel on sharepoint (it works good, it dont need gateway) and the second conector is to database to Mysql ( it is on the web, goddady)
