Connecting to SalesForce with Analytics for Salesforce
Hi,
I'm trying to connect to Salesforce with Power BI. The installation instructions I'm following is at:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-connect-to-salesforce
I am able to go to step 3, but afterwards it didn’t prompt me to sign in to SalesForce.com. Instead it ended up creating reports with test data. When I searched for “Analytics for Salesforce”, I got a couple of preview versions of this app. I was wondering if this is the correct way to connect?
I go to the "Analytics for Salesforce - Sales Rep view" workspace and there is a "Connect your Data" link at the top. I tried to use this, but it doesn't connect. I got the error:
{"error":{"code":"ModelRefresh_ShortMessage_ProcessingError","pbi.error":{"code":"ModelRefresh_ShortMessage_ProcessingError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"Message","detail":{"type":1,"value":"Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'https://mysoftwarecomapny.my.salesforce.com/services/data/v29.0/sobjects/Opportunity/describe' (404): Not Found"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: Opportunity.
Sincerely,
Jason
