Connecting to GA4 with the 2.0 (beta)

I'm getting this error when tryting to connect to GA4 using the 2.0 (beta)
Any assitance or workaround would be grateful.

The very lovely Cubal has a work-around that fixed the problem
The PowrerBi team need to fix the 2.0 (Beta) connector

Thanks for reahcing out Microsoft Fabric Communtiy.

Below are the work arounds that might resolve your issue.

1. Check API Quotas & Permissions that your Google analytics API quotas are not exceeded. You can check this in the google cloud console → API & Services → quotas.
2. How to Check GA4 Permissions in Google Analytics:
   • Go to Google Analytics Admin
   • In the Admin section (bottom-left corner), ensure you have the correct GA4 property selected.
   • Under the Account or property column, click on Account Settings or Property Settings (whichever level you need access to).
   • Select Account Access Management or Property Access Management (depending on where your permissions are set).
   • In the Users List, locate your email.
   • Ensure you have at least Viewer or Analyst role (or higher, like Editor/Admin).
3. Try fetching a smaller dataset by reducing the date range or number of dimensions/metrics in your query.
4. To test direct API Access: Open a browser and try accessing the URL in the error message. If the request times out, it may be an issue with Google's API.
5. Refresh credentials & reconnect to check existing Google Analytics credentials in Power BI and re-authenticate. Ensure that your credentials are set to OAuth 2.0 authentication.
