Say I go into Power BI Desktop and connect to an Azure SQL Database
I have to Whitelist My IP address on the SQL Database before continuing. However, when I publish into the Power BI Service..... What happens then? When the data gets refreshed into the dataset, I guess its not using my IP address any more?
Why do I not have to Whitelist and IP Address for the Power BI Services at this point?

Hi @DebbieE
There is an option when you setup an Azure Database to say whitelist Azure services. This will include Power BI as part of that list because it is all running with Azure.
Please share your experience if possible! How do you have everything set up now? Did everything work stably using ip-whitelist? Have you tried using domains?
This post was from March last year. theres no way I can remember that far back 🙂
@DebbieE thanks anyway!)
