Connecting Power BI Service to Local PostgreSQL

Hello,

First of all, apologies for asking such basic questions, but somehow I couldn't find any working solution anywhere in forums - I'm still a beginner so its possible I ran into actual solution without actually recognizing it.

I ran into an exception stating I'm supposed to install NPgsql 4.0.10.0, which I did install (from https://github.com/npgsql/npgsql/releases/download/v4.0.10/Npgsql-4.0.10.msi ).

My postgreSQL connection works smoothly in Power BI Desktop, and Ive succesfully used my data gateway to import .csv and .xlsx files already. Any tips on how to make DB connection work as well?

You need to install the NPgsql 4.0.10.0 on gateway server similar to your development enviornment

once done, please create a data source and use that for refreshing your dataset on service.

If this post helps, then please consider Accept it as the solution, Appreciate your Kudos!!
