Connecting MySQL on Linux to Power BI Online - Setting Up Gateway and Connection
Hello everyone,
I’m trying to connect my MySQL server, hosted on a Linux machine, to Power BI Online. I’ve run into issues with setting up a gateway and configuring the connection. Could someone provide a step-by-step guide on setting up an on-premises data gateway for Power BI that will allow access to my MySQL database on Linux? Specifically, I’m looking for help with:
- Setting up the gateway for a MySQL Linux server.
- Configuring the connection settings in Power BI Online.
- Any prerequisites or permissions I need to consider.
Any advice or links to relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Hi Clickd ,
- Setting up the gateway for a MySQL Linux server.
PowerBI Enterprise Gateway is not supported in Linux at the moment. You need to install the gateway using Virtual Machine on Windows Machines. - Configuring the connection settings in Power BI Online.
Download and install the gateway on a VM for standard gateway.
Configure the gateway based on your firewall and other network requirements. - Any prerequisites or permissions I need to consider.https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-install#requirements
