Connecting MySQL on Linux to Power BI Online - Setting Up Gateway and Connection

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to connect my MySQL server, hosted on a Linux machine, to Power BI Online. I’ve run into issues with setting up a gateway and configuring the connection. Could someone provide a step-by-step guide on setting up an on-premises data gateway for Power BI that will allow access to my MySQL database on Linux? Specifically, I’m looking for help with:

1. Setting up the gateway for a MySQL Linux server.
2. Configuring the connection settings in Power BI Online.
3. Any prerequisites or permissions I need to consider.

Hi @Clickd ,

1. Setting up the gateway for a MySQL Linux server.   
   PowerBI Enterprise Gateway is not supported in Linux at the moment. You need to install the gateway using Virtual Machine on Windows Machines. 
2. Configuring the connection settings in Power BI Online.
   Download and install the gateway on a VM for standard gateway.
   Configure the gateway based on your firewall and other network requirements.
