For a large client I am investigating how feasible a migration from Databricks to MS Fabric is at this time. One issue I'm running into is connecting a Data Pipeline to a Postgresql server on AWS RDS.
A well known thing about RDS database servers is the use of SSL encrypted connections: a CA is required when connecting to the Postgresql server.
Does anyone know of a way to setup a CA (or disregard the validation issue in a worst case scenario) when using MS Fabric. I would like to avoid using a data gateway for such a simple thing as the Postgresql server is currently accessible from the internet anyway. Adding an extra layer like a data gateway is a blocker in this specific situation.
Hi. You can try the following post:

I'm not completely sure it works because it was tested just for PowerBi. However, it looks that it contains all you need for the certificate and Fabric Gateway should be almost the same. I don't think you can avoid the gateway. AWS RDS it's not like regular postgres. You can set up an EC2 for the gateway.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
