Connect to SAP BW BEx Query Designer created cubes

Hi,
our new customer is using BEx Query Designer to create cubes. I was tasked to connect one of those cubes via Power BI Service's Power Query online.

I did manage to connect to SAP BW Application Server, but I cannot see the cube they mention, when connecting via import mode.

My questions now is:
1) Can I connect to BEx Query Designer created cube connect with Import mode?
2) Are there any permissions needed to be granted, so I could see this?
3) Or am I missing something?

Thanks

So, after some time spent, I managed to find out, that the SAP administrator must enable external users to access the OLE DB for OLTP

After checking this, the queries got visible after some time.

@zenisekd

  • Import Mode: Yes, you can connect to BEx queries using Import mode in Power BI.
  • Permissions: Ensure the user has the necessary authorizations to access the BEx queries and data in SAP BW.
  • Potential Issues: Verify query settings, connector configuration, and user permissions. Test access with other tools to isolate the issue.

Thank you for the general answer.

The issue is that no one is able to tell me, what permissions I need, including the admin. Also a direction of the query location would be helpful. Any suggestions?
