Connect and import the Published Zendesk APP Datasets as a DataSource

I have logged a request recently but were no able to implement a sustainable solution as the power automate option was not approved by IT Solved: Re: Zendesk Connectivity - Beta does not work - Microsoft Fabric Community

I came across, Connect to Zendesk with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn which is Zendesk app published within PBI

I want to know, can i publesh the app, expose the datasets for me connect to the datasources  via desktop. The data i am looking for is azendesk dashboard table export of over 5000 records. 

Please help, i looked at the custom API paging and did not win. Hoping now i can publish this app and connect to the datasets of the APP.

Hi @icassiem ,

I never used Zendesk if you have the API documentation and proper authentication details (API key 0r basi credentials etc,..) then you will be able to pull the data.

These are important considerations you to focus on-

Relativepath, query parameters, API limitations and pagination(odata.next link if it is showing in your first page response on post man or power shell when you call that rest API endpoint).

You would need to ask your tenant admin to install the template app for you.

I have pbi and zendesk admin access, is this OK or does it need to be the azure admin?

Also would it work to connect desktop and service to the apps datasource once installed and published?

Have you tried to install the template app? It will tell you if you have the required permissions.

When you launch the app you will be asked for the connection details and credentials.

I don't really want to use the app but the datasource of the app for my set of kpi. Once app published are the dataources exposed on the services for desktop to connect and connection from the app source?

You don't really have a choice. The data source may only be accessible from within the app.

Thank you, once app installed how from desktop do I connect to the apps datasource. Would it be in the service and I have get data with a url of the data source?

Would there be ticket data and it's priority?

But it does not show how to connect my report to the data mart 

Or should I edit the app and copy the connections within the downloaded file as sharing does not pr9vide a solution

I also dont have the api details to try the api, only that it has a 1000 row limit which means I need to do paging 

Please advise if my thinking of editing the app to use the connection method for my desktop?

This is a s far i get, preview works but refreshing the module it fails as the relationships are not found due to the limit. Kindly advise, how would i page the api if i keep my records to 5000 rows. Please help?
