Connect Dataflow to Gen2 Data Lake

Hi,

I'm trying to connect my Gen2 Data Lake to a Dataflow, but it seems like I'm unable to do it.

  1. I go into Power BI service, make a workspace (with nothing on it) and create Dataflow.
  2. When creating Dataflow, I press "add tables" and go for "Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2".
  3. Copy paste my URL from Data lake into URL
    https://sxxxxxxx.dfs.core.windows.net/parquetoutput
  4. Try to use my organization account as authenticator.
  5. Press "next", then I get:

But when I try to connect to the data lake, without using dataflow, only using the desktop PowerBi.
Then I'm able to get data from my lake.

My PowerBI Tenant are located in North Europe

Azure is located in West Europe, though the secondary location are North Europe.

I've also tried to make a Service Principle and connect through it via the authenticator.
Then I get this:

What am I doing wrong?

Hi @Fraistan ,

Here are some possible solutions that you can try:

- Make sure that the storage account is created in the same Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) tenant as the Power BI tenant. You can check this by comparing the domain names of your Power BI and Azure accounts.

- Make sure that the Power BI workspace tenant region is the same as the storage account region. You can check this by looking at the URL of your Power BI service and your Azure portal.

- If you are using a service principal to connect to the data lake, make sure that you have registered it in Azure AD and granted it the appropriate permissions and roles.
