Confusion over Azure Architecture models
Automated enterprise BI - Azure Architecture Center | Microsoft Learn
Hi all, We are looking at the Microsoft architecture models and we came across the following:
What I'm finding confusing is the addition of analysis Services into this model. I always through Analysis Services was the old solution that you could use stand alone. If you use power BI the data is held in the Power BI Vertipaq columnar data storage (if you import it).
Can anyone explain why Analysis Services is part of this architecture? Have Microsoft renamed the backend of Power BI to Analysis Services?

The confusion about Azure Analysis Services I'm sure you can get the answer by reading the content in the link below, the Power BI backend has not been renamed to Azure Analysis Services.What is Azure Analysis Services? | Microsoft Learn

Buy why then is Analysis Services on the above model. This is what we want to specifically understand? It feels like an error in the designed architecture to me?
