Confusion in Visual

You say each box is a sub-brand so there is no nesting there, hence not a Tree-map

This looks like Stacked Bars with no space in between

X Axis- Brands

Legend - Sub Brand

Measure(Y-Axis) - No. of complains

I can't see your image but I think Y Axis is % of Total ???If yes, then that is Percent of Total Stacked Bar

In the definition of mekko chart you will see

>> In simple terms and without all the above hype :), a Mekko chart is a combination of a 100% stacked column chart and a 100% stacked bar chart combined into one
