Configuring Oracle Data Source in Enterprise Gateway

I'm having trouble adding an Oracle database as a data source in the enterprise gateway. The error message I get is below:

 

Unable to connect: We encountered an error while trying to connect to SERVER_NAME. Details: "Cannot connect to the mashup data source. See error details for more information."Hide details

I can confirm that I have the latest ODAC components installed on both the client machine and the server where the enterprise gateway is installed. I have also tested connecting to the data source through Power BI Desktop and it works just fine.

I was able to setup the Oracle data source by reinstalling the gateway to the latest version and using the service name instead of the hostname in the "server" field when setting up the data source. Thanks.

@wonga Refer to this guide to find location where logs and generated and see if logs give you more information. Also previously i've found un-installing EG, downloading latest one and re-installing have fixed some problems.

 

As @jldaley86 suggested you can try cleaning registry values for EG and see if that works.

@ankitpatira Okay I'll give these 2 potential solutions a try. The weird thing is that I am able to add other data sources such as SQL Server, and File(s).
