Configure data sources for Dashboard

After a dashboard (or report) is created and published how exactly a client will be using it knowing that his data location is different? Is there a configuration file or something?

Thanks

    Hi Markzolotoy,

Could you please describe more details about client? Does it mean that the users want to know the dataset of dashboards after you share the dashboard to them? If that is the case, when you share dashboards via Group and give user edit permission to the group content or share dashboard via Content Pack, the users are able to view datasets of the dashboards.

However, when you share dashboards using Share option, users are not able to know the dataset. Moreover, only dashboard owner can know what original source the dataset connects to.

    Thanks,

By a client I mean a company that uses our products. When I design a dashboard I am pointing it to my data. How would it work with the client's data?

      Thanks

        Hi Markzolotoy,

You can drag the client data into database or flat file, then import database or the flat file into Power BI and create report/dashboard based on the data.

        Thanks,
