Composite Model published to BI Service
Hey Anonymous,
I don't quite know your requirements, but are you familiar with this functionality?
I think your solution is ok.
One requirement my customers had was that they did not want to click on the "Refresh" button. With Direct Query it is so that if a user had the report open and the data changed in the background, they still had to click "Refresh" in order to see the changes.
If you don't want this you have to allow "Automatic Page Refreh", but this is a premium feature.
Otherwise I think the whole thing is ok.

I am in a Premium workspace, good to know there is an auto-refresh feature for DirectQuery -- in the past I have used a Chrome addin to automatically refresh the page π
Just need confirmation that this approach will work: published report with on-prem refresh at twice/day, in combination with DirectQuery data that refreshes constantly, even if I have combined these two tables in DAX. Sounds like the answer is YES!
