Comments filtering: if RLS blocks a filter can users till see comments under that value?

While comments do not support row level security, if a comment is placed on a dashboard with a specific filter:  StoreID = 47 and RLS handles it based off store ID for each user... can a user for StoreID=88 see the comments under the storeID=47 filter?

  • That is a really good question I would need to test to see what the outcome would be.

I tried testing it in a very simple scenario, adding comments, changing filters, adding more, etc...

What I saw it appears that each comment has a bookmark in it so it just flips the report to those filter settings when clicked.

However, I didn't know if there was some way to filter the comments so that they only appear for the filter selections they were created under.

I was hoping that was somehow possible, especially as it would allow a custom column be created in the data model and filtered on it to better order and organize filters.

        Hi there

That might be possible, but it would require a certain amount of work to get that completed.
