CoPilot for Power BI
No, the issue is NOT resolved. But, yes I understood your clarification, stating that Microsoft has simply provided the PowerBI Icon; which does NOT work; but works only when you buy a subscription of "Power BI Premium (P1 and above) or Fabric capacity (F64 and above)". Thank you for your patience, in explaining this to me. I guess, both of us could have saved some time for ourselves, if Microsoft had not provided the Icon (that does not work) in the fisrt place.

After reviewing the details you provided, I have identified few workarounds that may help resolve the issue. Please follow these steps:
Copilot necessitates access to a Premium Power BI capacity (P1 and above) or a paid Fabric capacity (F64 and above).
Your organization's tenant administrator must enable Copilot for the tenant. If this setting isn't visible to the admin, it may indicate that the feature hasn't rolled out to your tenant yet.

Thank you for reaching out to help. Our IT has done, what has been suggested by you. But, it still turns out that I need to spend $8,000 per month on Microsoft Fabric with CoPilot subscription, to make this work...!! My primary question was NOT about - how to enable CoPilot on PowerBI by making premium subscription payment; but rather it was about how to use the CoPilot option which is already provided on PowerBI? Even if that means using CoPilot with its basic features, I am okay..!!

I appreciate your patience and understand your concerns about the CoPilot feature in Power BI. To clarify, CoPilot in Power BI currently requires:- Power BI Premium (P1 and above) or Fabric capacity (F64 and above)
- Tenant admin enabling CoPilot for your organization
At this moment, Microsoft does not provide a free or Pro-tier version of CoPilot for Power BI. This is why, even though the icon appears, the feature requires an eligible subscription to function.
Microsoft may expand it in the future, but currently, a full experience requires a high-cost subscription. If you're looking for AI insights without Fabric, explore Power Automate AI Builder, Azure OpenAI APIs, or Python-based AI integrations.
If you don’t see CoPilot in your Power BI workspace, it may be restricted at the tenant level by your organization’s IT team. You might need to ask them to enable it at the basic level, even without a full Microsoft Fabric subscription.Kindly refer to the below document links for more information:
